An unintended expat blogger behind Pure River Path

Hi there, I’m Sofia
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Barcelona, Spain.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were challenging — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they should have been.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Pure River Path
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in Spain.
What This Site Covers (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Barcelona or anywhere in Spain, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
